Hello people,

I opened up the motor in order to change the Chinese ball bearings with SKF ones.

Here is the video.

Besides that, inside I found that the motor is equipped with temperature sensor but the system does not use it. The cable on the side of the controller is blank at that point.

I wired it to my Kelly controller.

Unfortunately it is not compatible with neither 3 types that are listed in the options for the sensor box.

At least I tried....

the temp sensor is just a thermo-resistor, could it be as simple as calibrating the sensor with an additional resistor, so it matches the expected resistance for the kelly controller?

if not, would be easy enough to rig up a second display to show the temp of the motor anyway; good to know it is there, will be useful for my own mods this summer

In the Kelly controller there was an error message with any of the options for the sensor. The error would result in complete cutting of power, so I had to set it to no sensor again.

If anyone wants to experiment with it, though, go ahead. Now you know what is inside...

it could be that the kelly controller is expecting a digital input, something like Arduino could create that - need to know the specs of the controller tho, i would find it surprising if it doesn't have a AD converter, but i haven't looked at the kelly in detail yet

could be down to the voltage too (resister could adjust that)

Interesting to see how the motor is build up! Also interesting how you use standard home build gear to place your soco hahaha. You should measure the ptc/ntc. Its possible that a 1k 10k or a 100k is used... you should look in the docs from the Kelly controller you could even add one if the current is not working... but its still nice to see how the motor is build! Thank you for the video! Top!
